Test Automation Engineer

We are looking for a Test Automation Engineer who will join our Services Team at FANDOM. The team is building microservices, tooling, and infrastructure which will provide additional backend functionality in our platform. This is a part of our migration towards SOA effort and includes both implementing new features and creating building blocks for future services. As a test Automation Engineer, you will collaborate with the development team and other quality managers to ensure high quality of our products. You will have influence not only on the projects inside the team but also on other engineering teams at FANDOM. You will work on projects which improve quality of life for engineers such as CI/CD workflows. You will also be responsible for scaling our testing automation tools and constantly improving our testing infrastructure.

About your role:

  • Planning and creating test cases (manual and automated) for our services and apps
  • Executing test cases and diagnosing results
  • Identifying, tracking and communicating defects
  • Identifying problems with code and QA processes, delivering problem resolution
  • Automating integration and acceptance tests using tools like Selenium WebDriver
  • Close collaboration with developers and product managers in different locations

You are...

  • + 4 years of software testing experience
  • Min 2 years of web testing automation experience (preferable backend testing)
  • Hands-on experience with Selenium WebDriver preferable or with other open-source automated testing frameworks (e.g. Robotium, Frank)
  • Hands-on experience with backend testing tools (eg. JMeter, Gatling)
  • Basic software development skills e.g. Java or another object-oriented language
  • Experience with Jenkins, Git
  • Able to communicate in English effectively
  • Eager to learn, ask questions, take initiative and make improvements and suggestions
