Contract Host/Producer

FANDOM is hiring a Contract Host/Producer that will play a significant role in helping to create unique Original and Editorial video content for FANDOM. This role will be a public figure and voice for the FANDOM brand, serving as host for original shows, editorial content, event coverage, and more.  

Aside from having advanced experience as an on-camera presenter (both scripted and unscripted) , it is necessary for the senior host/producer to show strong narrative sensibilities and the ability to creatively ideate and follow through on content within entertainment, gaming, and fandom culture. Additionally, this role will serve as a outwardly facing brand ambassador for FANDOM, so applicants who have extensive experience working for and representing digital media companies or brands is strongly preferred.  This position will be key part of FANDOM growing daily coverage of our entertainment and gaming verticals.

You have…

  • 1-3 years experience minimum as a host and producer (preferably for a digital media company); be sure to include a link to your published video (hosting) work under "website" on the application. Multiple links/samples are welcome, of course, and can be included in your resume or cover letter. 
  • Strong interview technique and presence
  • Broad understanding of the entertainment and gaming verticals
  • Basic knowledge of video production and post production tools, software, and practices
  • Experience ideating and creating digital video content, with examples of timeliness and quality
  • Ability to quickly to identify key-video opportunities for FANDOM’s audience that can be produced effectively and efficiently
  • Excellent brand awareness - able to represent and build FANDOM’s brand, adding to its ethos and tone in a positive manner
  • Ability to work between various Fandom teams - including video, editorial, sales, and social - in contributing new and creative ideas for video content on FANDOM’’s main site and it’s syndicated channels (YouTube, Facebook, etc.)
  • Experience working with video producers and editorial team in writing scripts for a specific show(s)
  • Experience covering a variety of conventions and entertainment events (Comic-Con, E3, PAX, awards shows, premiere red carpets, etc.) with the ability to travel up to 20% of the year.
  • Expertise in relevant fandoms by staying up on current entertainment news (movies, TV, games, etc.)
  • Passion for pop culture and love of cinema, knowledge of movies, TV, comics and video games
