Star Wars: The Last Jedi, is the latest film in the epic Skywalker saga. It picks up where The Force Awakens left off, with our heroes joining the galactic legends in an adventure that unlocks age-old mysteries of the Force and delves into shocking revelations of the past.
Luke Skywalker has been found, but he’s not exactly the wizened Jedi Master you may have expected. Rey is looking for help in understanding her newfound abilities, but Luke may not be down for that.
Finn, recovering from injuries sustained in his clash with Kylo Ren, gets help from Rose, a new character played by Kelly Marie Tran. Rose is a Resistance maintenance worker who gets caught up in an undercover mission with Finn. And he’ll need all the help he can get with a reinvigorated Captain Phasma on his tail.
Poe Dameron and BB-8 are still the coolest cats in the galaxy. Poe could have his ship destroyed… again. And BB-8 won’t be the only BB-unit on the scene.
Carrie Fisher’s General Leia will have more of a presence in the story, and will no-doubt be struggling to cope with her son’s ultimate betrayal — the killing of his father, Han Solo — while leading the fight against the First Order.
Kylo, for his part, seems to still be struggling with the pull to the Light — something that Supreme Leader Snoke will certainly be concerned about.
Oh, and PORGS! Those alien cuties who have stolen the hearts of Star Wars fandom, are inhabitants of the island where Luke’s been hiding out. So, prepare yourselves for adorability.
The Last Jedi, directed by Rian Johnson, opens in U.S. theaters on December 15.
