Stranger Things, the newest sci-fi show to premiere on Netflix, will arrive on July 15. Heavily inspired by Amblin-era Spielberg films like E.T. and the novels of Stephen King, this sci-fi thriller tale is described by Netflix as “a love letter to the supernatural classics of the 80’s.”

As excited as we are to see the show, we’re even more excited to tell you that we’re doing our very first watchalong for Stranger Things. That means you can watch and react to the show along with us! Fan Contributors and Wikia Staff will recap and react to all eight episodes on the following schedule:

Episodes 1 & 2: Saturday, July 16
Episodes 3 & 4: Saturday, July 23
Episodes 5 & 6: Saturday, July 30
Episodes 7 & 8: Saturday, August 6
Season 1 Round Table Discussion: Sunday, August 7

Stranger Things stars Winona Ryder as the mother of a young boy (Finn Wolfhard) who disappears under mysterious circumstances. The search for him uncovers a host of greater mysteries involving bizarre government experiments and sinister-looking children who may or may not have telekinetic powers. (Akira, anyone?)

The show’s creators, Matt and Ross Duffer (Wayward Pines), wrote, directed, and acted as showrunners for this first season. Shawn Levy (Real Steel, Night at the Museum) also brought his directorial talents to the series for episodes three and four.

Stranger Things looks even better now that we’ve seen its second trailer (beware of some NSFW language) and the new poster, which you can see below.
