For those who fear the eight-legged freaks, we suggest you look away now because the Middle-earth: Shadow of War story trailer contains one massive spider. Either that or skip forward because you’re not going to want to miss this epic trailer.

The trailer showcases the game’s heroes, Celebrimbor (aka The Bright Lord for the Shadow of Mordor DLC) and Talion as they work to use the power of the New Ring to form their own army to take on Sauron and his Nazgul. The game will see you take part in a monumental battle for Middle-earth. Check out all the new allies, villains and creatures arriving with the game that you’ll encounter as you play in this Middle-earth: Shadow of War story trailer.

Talion has several natural athletic and combat abilities as a ranger of Gondor, but also has unique abilities provided by the spirit of the elf lord Celebrimbor, who he shares his body with – sounds painful. You’ll need to use their combined abilities to complete the game’s plentiful missions, as you work to undermine and disrupt the plans of Sauron’s army. The story follows directly on from the end of Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor and expands upon its predecessor’s Nemesis system to apply to a larger part of the world, including other characters called Followers that have behaviour guided by how you’ve has interacted with them along your journey. In terms of gameplay, Middle-earth: Shadow of War will be more of a RPG than a hack ‘n’ slash like it’s predecessor, aimed at offering players a more personalised experience.

Middle-earth: Shadow of War was recently delayed from an August 22 release date to later this year on October 10. It will be available for Xbox One, PC and PS4 upon release.
