The fifth season of Voltron: Legendary Defender just premiered, and it’s focused on family.
Last season saw Pidge — the Green Lion pilot — and her brother Matthew reunited (watch FANDOM’s fun interview with voice actors Bex Taylor Klaus and Blake Anderson here).
Now, the duo turns their search efforts to their missing father, Samuel Holt. Sam went missing after being taken prisoner by the Galra Empire during the Galaxy Garrison’s expedition to Kerberos.
Lotor, the Galra prince who defected, offers up the whereabouts of Sam to prove his loyalty to the paladins. Will his intel lead them to Sam, or a trap? Find out in the exclusive clip from Season 5 above.
As mentioned previously, this season is all about family, not just the Holt siblings and their missing father, but Lotor’s strained relationship with his father, Emporer Zarkon.
And finally, the family origins of Keith — the former leader of Voltron — are also explored.
