TwitchCon 2018 is landing at the McEnery Convention Center in San Jose from October 26-28. The fourth annual celebration of the streaming platform will attract tens of thousands of content creators and their fans to meet in real life and party. But if you can’t make it, don’t worry — you can check everything out online because it’s Twitch, and that’s what they do.

Here are five can’t-miss events happening at TwitchCon 2018.

TwitchCon Cosplay Contest

1. The Cosplay Contest

Those who know their way around a sewing machine and a stack of EVA foam have been making their way through the ranks in the popular event’s four categories, which focus on sewing, armor, special effects, and super-sized features. TwitchCon will host the finals to this year’s competition. Contestants are vying for $70,000 in rewards, including a grand prize of $15,000. The entrants have spent hours making their costumes based on their favorite games, movies, and shows, and Twitch will reveal the winners Saturday at 4:30 Pacific.

TwitchCon: A Year in Clips

2. A Year in Clips

This show is happening Friday afternoon at 3:30 Pacific, and it takes a look back through some of the best clips Twitch streamers have captured over the past year. That means jump scares, high-tier game playing, and some surprises. With so much footage appearing on the service every day, it’s hard to know what’s good. This wrap-up has done all the hard work of curation and serves you just the best bits.

TwitchCon - Streaming for Good

3. Streaming for Good: Why Charity Events Are Awesome

In recent years, Twitch streamers have used their gaming and hobby time to raise money for their favorite causes. This panel, which takes place at 10:30 Pacific on Sunday morning, will offer hints and tips for people hoping to use their streams for good. The panelists will share what they’ve learned from their own experiences to help aspiring fundraisers help others while having fun.

Making Music on Twitch

4. Making Music on Twitch

Since its inception, Twitch has been expanding out from gaming to include all forms of creativity. Twitch Music is a new addition that focuses on composers and performers building audiences while they practice and perfect their craft. The new format allows for instant feedback while fans get to enjoy live music whenever they want. This panel, which happens Sunday at noon Pacific, will examine this young branch of the service and look at how its population is using the platform.

5. Rolling Over Your Obstacles: Streaming with Disabilities

This Saturday panel at noon Pacific will gather a group of streamers with disabilities. They’ll talk about the problems they’ve faced and how streaming has helped them cope with or even overcome them. The discussion will go beyond the basic “playing games on the internet” aspect of Twitch to get to the less obvious benefits of communities, especially for those who need them the most.
