[UPDATED] Ubisoft has released additional details on the closed beta for Tom Clancy’s The Division via the Ubiblog. On Xbox One, the closed beta runs Jan. 28 – 31. On PS4 and PC, the beta runs Jan. 29 – 31. You can guarantee access to the beta by pre-ordering the game. They are also taking sign-ups for the waiting list here.

Despite having a launch date of March 8, we know surprisingly little about Tom Clancy’s The Division. The game was announced during E3 way back in 2013, and has already been delayed several times. The beta was also pushed back to “early 2016” but as of this writing no official date has been announced, though it is rumored to start at the end of this month. All of this could lead one to believe the game could miss its March release window.

That is why it was a pleasant surprise when Ubisoft released the following “RPG Gameplay” trailer today.

The trailer touches on the story of the game, where you are an agent of a covert military organization tasked with taking back and rebuilding New York City in the wake of a massive pandemic that wipes out most life and sends the city into complete chaos. The trailer also provides a look at several new gameplay mechanics and locations.

We get a look at some of the character and gear customization, as a gun is shown cycling through several scope options. There also appears to be a base-building mechanic where you slowly clean up and upgrade your safe houses, which will affect its look and contents. At various points in the trailer we are shown a “Base Restoration” graphic projected onto the wall, with restoration and upgrade meters for the various wings, including medical, tech, and security.

Finally, the game’s tech and gadgets are on display. We were able to spot a riot shield, the seeker mine, some sort of collapsible cover point – perhaps the armored shell –  and two healing and buffing powers: an area-of-effect First Aid gun, and one that pinpointed all team members. It appears you are going to need these powers, as the video included members of the Cleaners enemy faction burning everything in sight with their flamethrowers.

Tom Clancy’s The Division will be available on Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC. Here is another fifteen minutes of gameplay footage from last year’s E3 to tide you over until the beta.
