Creative mastermind Jeff Davis has spoken about life after Teen Wolf once the series finishes. When the second half of Season 6 comes to the end of its run of 10 episodes, it will mark the last time we see Teen Wolf – in this iteration anyway. Davis opened up about his plans for more Teen Wolf projects during a round-table interview at San Diego Comic-Con.

He talked about a “regime change” at MTV, which kickstarted the talks for new Teen Wolf ventures.

“The new president is a huge fan of Teen Wolf, in the way it’s been a huge part of MTV, and he doesn’t want to let it go – which is really cool and really flattering,” he said. “There’s the podcast that we’re talking about which could be very fun and there’s this idea of a potential reboot.”

The podcast would continue the adventures of the characters from the TV show.

As for the reboot? “That won’t happen for a while. For me, it’s still very difficult to see Teen Wolf as anything other than Tyler Posey. He is the face of the show. He’s the one who’s been in all 100 episodes. So, it’ll take some re-thinking on my part but maybe we bring in new writers, a new team to see how they can reboot the show.”

Teen Wolf is based on the 1985 movie of the same name starring Michael J. Fox. But Davis is also a fan of another show that’s based on a property from the same era – Battlestar Galactica.

“I never thought one of my favourite shows would be Battlestar Galactica,” he said. “I had watched maybe a couple of episodes of the 1970s/early 80s’ show, and then there’s a new take on it that’s utterly brilliant. So who knows?”

FANDOM asked Davis what other 1980s movie he’d like to reboot. He struggled to narrow it down. But when we suggested he tackle Mannequin, the 1987 film about a shop window dummy that comes to life starring Kim Cattrall and Andrew McCarthy, he said: “I love that movie. Let’s reboot it as a horror movie. It was a little terrifying wasn’t it?”

Teen Wolf returns for its closing run of 10 episodes on July 30.
