Stranger Things was a completely unknown quantity last year. Now, it’s exploded into one of the biggest overnight fandoms in recent memory. The Netflix series came to Hall H for the first time and you would have thought that they were a convention mainstay. The audience screamed with excitement as the cast and crew took the stage. They went particularly nuts for Millie Bobby Brown who plays the powerful Eleven. It’s clear that she’s already on the fast track to superstardom.

At last! Justice for Barb is coming to 'Stranger Things 2'.

Another cast member that is incredibly beloved is Shannon Purser who played Barb in season one. She surprised the audience by asking the first question of the Q&A session. “Is Barb going to be in season two?” Unfortunately, the Duffer Brothers (creators of the show) nixed that idea. But they said that there will be #JusticeForBarb, which got a good response.

All Aboard the Hype Train

What really hit home was the new trailer they released. Set to the iconic Vincent Price voiceover from Michael Jackson’s “Thriller,” this trailer has the hype train going full steam ahead.

What a great trailer! The scope of the show is definitely expanding and it’s great to see the cinematic influence hasn’t left Stranger Things. What is that giant monster in the sky that Will sees? Is it going to be this season’s Demogorgon? And that quick appearance from Eleven at the very end had Hall H losing their minds. This is going to hit BIG.

Stranger Things 2 – I love that the production is being treated like a film sequel instead of a second season – will land on Netflix on October 27. Just in time for Halloween, which will play a big part in this season apparently. Can’t get over seeing the kids dressed up as the Ghostbusters. The adorable meter skyrocketed with that. October needs to get here now!
