With the new animated Star Wars series Forces of Destiny, studio bosses are turning their attentions to the women of the Star Wars saga. Rey, Jyn Erso, Sabine Wren, Ahsoka Tano and Hera Syndulla all feature prominently in the series of animated shorts, which is due to air in July on Disney’s YouTube channel. A new toy line has also been announced. New ‘adventure figures’ – in the form of Jyn Erso, Rey, Leia and Sabine Wren, among others – are meant to be a hybrid of doll and traditional action figure.
