Grand Admiral Thrawn is back! The beloved Legends character will return to Star Wars canon in Rebels Season 3. He’s seemingly called in by Tarkin and Imperial Governor Pryce to lead a series of attacks intended to squash the rebel threat. Thrawn will be voiced by Lars Mikkelsen, the brother of Rogue One actor Mads Mikkelsen.

A new Thrawn book by Timothy Zahn will be released in April 2017. Importantly, Thrawn’s story will not involve the Ysalamari, in spite of visual homage to the creatures seen in the trailer.

Wedge Antilles is coming to Rebels. The fan-favorite hot-shot pilot is set to make his debut on the series as part of a small group of Tie pilots who defect from the Empire to join the Rebellion.

When asked about the fate of Ahsoka Tano, Filoni told the crowd, “It’s likely that you might not have seen the last of Ahsoka Tano,” before qualifying the statement saying that it could be in a flashback, or in some other way.

Tom Baker joins the Rebels voice cast as a new alien who Ezra encounters during his struggle to balance the Light and the Dark sides of the Force. In the trailer, Baker’s character can be heard calling himself  “the Bendu… the one in the middle.” In Legends, Bendu is a collection of non-confrontational beliefs practiced by the Bendu monks.

Despite a quick glimpse of a ship in the same class as Dash Rendar’s Outrider, Filoni says there are no plans for the character to appear in Rebels.
