There’s a Hidden ‘Star Wars’ Cantina in Hollywood And We Want to Live In It

If it’s ever been a dream of yours to drink and dine with the best space scum George Lucas has to offer, then you better plan a trip to Hollywood, because it totally exists in real life now — but for a limited time.

The Scum & Villainy Cantina is a pop-up experience created by J.C. Reifenberg currently hidden away in the heart of Hollywood, known only to those who have stalked a Wookiee, or who follow their page on Facebook. It nails the vibe Chalmun’s Cantina, where Luke Skywalker and Han Solo met for the first time in Star Wars: A New Hope surrounded by a bunch of scoundrels getting totally hammered. It’s been open for two months and each night has been sold out. But if you want a piece of this intergalactic dive bar, you’re in luck! They just extended their stay through June.

FANDOM got a chance to check out the place, and it did not disappoint. We were treated to a room full of Star Wars characters and creatures, many of them members of the 501st Legion. There were Stormtroopers taking a load off at the bar, a few Princess Leias in gold bikinis, Han Solo and Greedo getting heated in a booth, a Darth Vader, C-3PO, and of course Chewbacca. One look around and you’d swear you weren’t on Earth anymore. This is straight up Mos Eisley on Tatooine.

The Atmosphere

“I’ve been waiting my whole life for a night like this,” said a Star Wars fan waiting at the bar for his drink. The Scum & Villainy Cantina basically feels like a dream come true. From the lighting and desert booths, to its costumed clientele and intergalactic playlist (think Daft Punk and David Bowie blasting through the speakers), it’s no wonder this place is sold out night after night.

The Menu

Cantina Quesadilla and Wretched Blue Milk

It’s all about the Wretched Blue Milk cocktail. And we can confidently say that after trying all three custom concoctions, the other two being The Chosen One and A Bad Feeling About This (our job is really hard). We were ecstatic to learn they serve food, because it’s really a shame when a bar doesn’t satisfy those late night munchies. You can order AT-TOTS (a pile of tater tots smothered with cheese), Twin Sun Tacos, and Carbonite Queso, but we highly recommend the Cantina Quesadilla (pictured above, with two Wretched Blue Milk drinks).

The People

Greg Grunberg poses with fans and steals a lightsaber

The best part of the Scum & Villainy Cantina are the people — everyone is there because they have some level of love and admiration for Star Wars. Geek extraordinaire Greg Grunberg (Star Wars: The Force AwakensHeroesAlias) came through and stole someone’s lightsaber, and Phil Lamarr (Star Wars RebelsStar Wars: The Clone Wars) hung out in a booth all night and chatted with fans. Everyone is just happy this place exists, even the Siths. We swear Vader was even smiling. We heard it.

For tickets to Scum & Villainy Cantina you can purchase them here or follow them on Facebook.
