Star Trek: Discovery — the first Star Trek TV series in over a decade — debuts tonight.

The premiere, entitled “The Vulcan Hello,” will air on CBS before the show moves to its permanent home on the network’s streaming service, CBS All Access.

The series is set approximately a decade before the events of Star Trek: The Original Series. It’s centered on a new Federation ship, the titular USS Discovery, but other ships will play a role, including the USS Shenzhou. In another departure, the lead will not be a captain. Rather, the show will be focused on First Officer Michael Burnham (played by The Walking Dead alum Sonequa Martin Greene). The rest of the diverse ensemble cast includes actors like Michelle Yeoh and Anthony Rapp in new roles. However, characters from the original Star Trek – namely Sarek and Harry Mudd – will also make appearances.

How to Watch Star Trek Discovery

So where can you follow the voyages of the starship Discovery from its start?

The broadcast premiere of Star Trek: Discovery will air on CBS Sunday, September 24 at 8:30pm ET, 7:30pm CT and 8:00pm PT. Following that airing, episode 2 will be only available on CBS All Access (you can sign up for a free seven-day trial, but a credit card is needed).

Each Sunday, a new episode of Star Trek: Discovery will be added to CBS All Access – eight in total – through November 5.

The remaining seven episodes of the inaugural season will air beginning January 2018 following the midseason break.

Trekkies across the pond in the U.K. will be able to watch the Discovery premiere on Netflix beginning September 25.
