Spider-Man: Homecoming has a lot to prove. It’s going to be the first time we see the MCU Spider-Man on his own and we’re all anxious to know what’s going on. We’ve learned some preliminary news thanks to a convention in Brazil, but you may want to consider some of this SPOILERS if you want to wait until the first trailer is revealed.

In the clip that was shown, Happy Hogan gives Peter Parker a newly upgraded suit from Tony Stark. Peter tries the suit on and decides to test it out. He gets on top of the Washington Bridge and flips off, revealing that he has webbing under his arms. Yes, the classic look from Spidey’s costume is being integrated into Spider-Man: Homecoming. It’s likely that he’ll be using this feature to glide, helping him in his fight against his main antagonist, The Vulture.

It’s great to see that Sony/Marvel are cooperating so well on this picture. Bringing back classic elements from Spider-Man’s past is a fantastic way to assure fans that they are getting this take right. It’s also great to know that Spidey will be acquiring different versions of his suit. The character is known for having a plethora of iconic costumes. None of the feature films have really taken full advantage of that. Maybe the MCU Spidey will have to make some more room in that closet!

We’ll be getting the first trailer for Spider-Man: Homecoming very soon, possibly even today. If not, it’s rumored to run with Rogue One: A Star Wars Story. Regardless, we’ll be keeping our eyes out for it as soon as it lands. Until then, start getting excited that we’re going to get the Spider-Man we’ve always wanted on the big screen. Underarm webbing! What’s next, an entire trilogy about the Clone Saga? I’m kidding.
