Insomniac’s Spider-Man Game Details

Insomniac, the studio that brought you Ratchet & Clank, Spyro, and Resistance, is now working on a game featuring your friendly neighborhood Spider-Man. The game’s all-new story and universe are being developed in collaboration with Marvel and San Mateo Studio.

Insomniac’s Spider-Man game will allow players to “take control of an experienced Peter Parker who is more masterful at fighting crime.” This is evident with some of the fighting sequences featured in the trailer above.

If it seems odd that a studio that previously worked on action platformers and an FPS series is now working on a Spider-Man game, keep in mind that Insomniac also created the highly-underrated Sunset Overdrive. That game’s environmental traversal was one of the best aspects of the game, and may give us a glimpse of what Insomniac has in mind for their take on Spidey.

Hopefully, we will get to see more of the newly-announced title on the E3 show floor when it opens Tuesday, June 14 at noon PDT.
