Sony Details PlayStation VR Plans at E3

VR was featured front and center during Sony’s E3 2016 press conference last night. Sony promises to bring VR to the mainstream since there are already over 40 million PlayStation VR-capable PS4 systems in homes across the globe when it launches on Oct. 13, 2016.

Sony placed the focus squarely on the games that will be available for the PlayStation VR platform, including the following:

Star Wars Battlefront: X-Wing VR Mission

An all-new Battlefront mission that allows players to live out their fantasy of piloting an X-Wing fighter in the far reaches of space. The mission will be free to Star Wars: Battlefront owners.

Batman: Arkham VR

The first virtual reality Batman experience that allows fans to become the World’s Greatest Detective in an all-new Arkham mystery that takes place in Gotham City. This VR experience is being developed by Rocksteady Studios, the developers of the recent Batman Arkham series.

Resident Evil VII

The latest entry in the storied Resident Evil franchise promises to terrify players in full VR. Read our full write-up here.

Final Fantasy XV VR Experience

This new VR experience for the upcoming Final Fantasy XV will allow you to play as Prompto, one of the main party characters accompanying Noctis on his journey.  Read our full write-up here.

Farpoint

An all-new original VR  first-person sci-fi shooter.

Sony is promised 50 VR games and experiences by the end of this year. PlayStation VR titles will range from $9.99 to $59.99. Additionally, PlayStation Move controllers will be available as a two-pack bundle for $99.99.

PlayStation VR will be available Oct. 13, 2016 for $399.
