Solo: A Star Wars Story is a film that we’ve been dying to get a peek at. We’ve cataloged the film’s tumultuous production and been wondering when we’d get to finally see a full trailer. Heck, the studio has even been skimpy with promotional art!

But, the wait is finally over. The Star Wars prequel finally has some significant footage for us to overanalyze and pick apart. Adjust your monitors and give the first look at Solo: A Star Wars Story your undivided attention.

Don’t Call It a Prequel

The Star Wars Story films have been unable to shake the fact that they are prequels. I’ve mentioned this before and Solo: A Star Wars Story isn’t doing a whole lot to prove otherwise. It looks like we’ll be seeing most of the big events in Han Solo’s life squished into one singular story. That’s definitely a prequel-y approach.

Still, the movie looks like it will be propped up by a fun cast and a more fan-friendly tone and approach than what some people felt about The Last Jedi (I wasn’t one of them). It’ll be interesting to gauge how this newest anthology film is received and what kind of direction that means for the Star Wars franchise.

We’ll see how fans and audiences react when Solo: A Star Wars Story hits theaters on May 25.
