The Five Nights at Freddy’s: Sister Location release date has finally been revealed. According to a new teaser image posted to game creator Scott Cawthon’s personal website, the next highly anticipated game in the Five Nights at Freddy’s series will be coming out on Oct. 7, 2016. This is great news for fans of the franchise who have been following the build-up to the game’s launch. Now we can get ready for Sister Location just in time for Halloween.

This teaser image was posted to scottgames.com.

In the last few weeks, we have found out more details about Sister Location’s storyline and characters. Cawthon’s personal website is a fairly threadbare page, but every now and again he will provide clues to what fans can expect from the next game. From what we have been able to decipher so far from new images and source code updates, we can now say that there is far more to Sister Location than meets the eye.

Sister Location Cancelled? Not So Fast…

Last week fans were in a panic when an image posted to the Scott Games site stated in bold red letters “CANCELLED Due to leaks.” After some clever photo manipulation and filtering from a group of savvy FNAF obsessives, it was revealed that the image contained hidden text that shows the possible origin of the Sister Location story. Here’s the text that basically reads like a newspaper clipping:

In other news: The grand opening of Circus Baby’s Pizza World has apparently been cancelled due to reported gas leaks in the building. Sources close to the establishment question the reports, saying that strange activity around the area at night suggest something else is to blame.

One local is quoted as saying, “Everything just stopped. There was so much excitement built around this place opening and then they just stopped talking about it. There was only a handful of people that ever got a look at the inside. Kids from here and there, making sure everything worked right, you know. I guess they weren’t quite as ready as they thought they were!”

A tenant from across the street claims to have witnessed a large group of cars surrounding the building during the night and large pieces of equipment being taken out of the building under tarps. A few weeks later the building was for sale.

There is no comment yet from the local entrepreneur who financed the venture.

What Does It Mean?

Many fans are speculating if this story means that we will be guarding Circus Baby’s Pizza World restaurant. The news article states that the business was shut down due to gas leaks before even being opened. The theory is that you will be present prior to the reported gas leak incident.

There is another idea circulating as well which aligns with some of our previous theories about Sister Location. Instead of this game taking place in a restaurant, Sister Location may actually take place in the factory where the animatronics are sent after the failed Pizza World opening.

Either way, the new plot development sounds very ominous, and we still have no definitive answer where this chapter will fall on the FNAF timeline. Sister Location is coming soon, and October 7 can’t get here fast enough.
