Martin Scorsese, an inarguable master of cinema, returns to the theater with his newest film, Silence.
The story centers around two Christian missionaries in the 17th century who travel to Japan to look for their mentor who has gone missing. Their journey is fraught with peril as Japan forbid Christianity from being practiced at the time. The ordeal will test their faith, resolve, and could even cost them their lives.
With an all-star cast that includes Andrew Garfield, Adam Driver, and Liam Neeson, Silence is undoubtedly one of the year’s most anticipated pictures. The film is based on the award-winning book from Shusaku Endo.
Silence will have a limited release on December 23 and will expand nationwide in January.
