As Nintendo fans, we’re never above a bit of family-friendly fun here at FANDOM. Time and time again the big N has managed to perfectly strike that balance between depth and accessibility, making games and devices that delight both young and old alike. Yet, after the surprise reveal of the latest Switch add-on, the Nintendo Labo, many older Nintendo fans found themselves unsure what to think.

Hot on the heels of single player gaming epics like Breath of The Wild and Super Mario Odyssey, many Switch owners were baffled to learn that the ace up Nintendo’s sleeve was a few sheets of colorable cardboard. Now Nintendo Labo is finally here — but were the skeptics right?

Well Nintendo fans, its time to breathe a sigh of relief because we’re happy to say that regardless of how old you are, Labo is bound to put a grin on your face. Still, despite it making a great first impression, we’re here to make sure that you spend your hard-earned cash on something that’s going to keep you entertained.

We’ve already shared our first thoughts on Nintendo’s latest cardboard creation, but we thought we’d give you a deeper look at the various different packs on offer and answer that all-important question — are they worth your money?

After spending some time with the Variety Kit Toy-Con and the Robot Kit Toy-Con, you can hear our UK gaming editor and Senior video producer weigh in with their thoughts on Labo in the video above.

Thanks to its surprisingly deep level of coding potential and customisation options, stay tuned to FANDOM over the coming weeks as we break down the craziest things you can do with Nintendo’s bonkers new tech.

Nintendo Labo launches April 20th in the US and April 27th in the UK and AU.
