Real-World SpongeBob SquarePants Will Give You Years of Nightmares

Who lives in a pineapple under the sea? Spongebo… oh no. Oh god no. This isn’t the kind of SpongeBob SquarePants you want to see anywhere in the world. EVER. This real-world SpongeBob might live in a pineapple in the sea now, but next he’s coming for you.

Big and little kids all over the world love SpongeBob SquarePants, the bright yellow sea sponge who always wears a white shirt, red tie and brown shorts. He is a cuddly kind of happy-go-lucky character you wouldn’t mind meeting in a dark alley. And the same goes for his dim-witted best pal Patrick Starfish, who, as his name suggests is a bright pink starfish who lives under a giant rock near SpongeBob.

But all the cuteness feels a long, long way away after seeing the 3D ‘real-world’ versions of SpongeBob and Patrick from 3D artist Miguel Vasquez. The pair go from this:

Although trying to guess how your favorite childhood characters would look like in the real-world is a fun pastime, after seeing this pair we won’t be doing it again anytime soon.

They look like something out of a twisted horror movie rather than an animated series aimed at children. And we’ll definitely have nightmares about this pair.

We dare to think what Vasquez could do with other characters from our favorite animated series and we really don’t want to see them. Like ever.
