Pokémon Fan Art That Will Inspire Cosplayers

With Pokémon Go taking over the world at the moment, it’s more popular than ever to express your admiration for long-running video game and anime series in various ways. One of those hardcore fans is artist TamTamdi, who has created over 200 Pokémon fan art pieces that they’ve shared with the world. However, these are not your typical Pokémon tributes as TamTamdi has redesigned the famous creatures as humans also known as Gijinka. Not only is that a clever approach to drawing these iconic designs, but they could easily be the basis for you to create some awesome cosplay costumes.

1st Generation Pokémon

The first generation of Pokémon introduced the first 151 unique beasts to collect, in National Pokédex order from Bulbasaur to Mew. The first Red/Blue entries also introduced two of the most popular Pokémon of all time — Pikachu and Meowth.

The Franchise Mascot and Favorite Talking Pokémon

Whether you have Pokémon Go on your mobile or have played any of the original games all the way back to the Game Boy versions, you’ll want to have Pikachu in your party. On top of that electric rodent, who can forget Team Rocket’s self-appointed leader and the first talking Pokémon in the franchise — Meowth? TamTamdi makes both of them look fantastic, and they’d translate well to cosplay worth wearing on the show floor of a convention.

2nd Generation Pokémon

When the second generation of the Pokémon anime began airing in 1999, it was introduced alongside Pokémon Gold and Silver, the new game for Game Boy Color. With the 2nd generation, fans got to know 100 new species of Pokémon, all ready to be grabbed by trainers new and old. As a result, gamers had 251 Pokémon to collect, train, and battle, all brought to beautiful life TamTamdi’s artwork.

And this only scratches the surface of this treasure trove of fan art. Who knows if the artist will ever draw all 729 unique Pokémon, but be sure to look beyond our favorite pieces of Pokémon fan art by visiting TamTamdi’s Facebook and DeviantArt pages. Maybe you’ll find even more inspiration for your upcoming con cosplay.
