Paragon, Epic Game’s new MOBA, features 18 heroes and counting. While the game is only in early access on both PC and PS4, the development team is committing to new hero releases every three weeks. Now’s a great time to familiarize yourself with the roles and heroes of Paragon. This edition of our Paragon Hero Guide takes a look at Assassins.

Assassins are traditionally melee heroes adept at sneaking about the map, coming out of nowhere to burst down squishy enemy targets. Vulnerable themselves, Assassins aren’t team fighters. Instead, they flank opponents and skulk about, waiting for the opportunity to strike with immense power. If you like to strike at enemies from the shadows, consider playing these Assassins… or, well… single Assassin that is. There is currently only one assassin in the entire game.

Kallari

Kallari is the only hero in Paragon with true stealth. Her Shadow Walk ability turns her invisible for 18 seconds or until she uses an offensive ability. It also greatly increases her movement speed, letting her quickly sneak up on enemies. Crippling Dagger tosses out a dagger that damages and slows enemies and her Ultimate, Death Sentence, marks a target, letting Kallari teleport instantly to their location, dealing damage on arrival. In combination, these two abilities make Kallari very difficult to peel or kite.

Kallari’s primary escape is Backflip, which sends her into the air away from opponents. However, if Kallari lands a kill, her Shadow Walk cooldown is greatly reduced. If she can snag two quick kills on an enemy backline, she can trigger Shadow Walk to make her escape.

Pros: True stealth and strong single-target damage.

Cons: Nearly no escape if she doesn’t get a kill. Especially vulnerable to AoE damage from opponents who don’t need to see her in order to deal damage.

We’ll update this guide as Epic adds more Assassins to Paragon. For more information on Paragon‘s many heroes and classes, check out our other Paragon Hero Guides for Casters, Rangers, Fighters, Supports, and Tanks.
