Today, October 3rd, is unofficially dubbed National Mean Girls Day by hardcore fans / the internet. Some background: there’s a scene where Cady’s crush, Aaron Samuels, turns around in his desk to ask her what day it is. (Spoiler alert: It was October 3rd.)

Its been twelve years since Tina Fey gave the world Mean Girls, the brilliant and highly quotable comedy starring a freckle-faced actress named Lindsey Lohan. Based on the book Queen Bees and Wannabes, Mean Girls explored the unspoken social rules facing teenage girls, told through the gaze of 15-year-old Cady Heron.

Here are some of the ways you can celebrate October 3rd, National Mean Girls Day:

Try to make ‘fetch’ happen

Poor Gretchen Weiners. She had a hard time playing second fiddle to the Queen Bee, Regina George. Maybe this year will be the year we can make fetch happen.

Start planning your Halloween costume

Take a cue from Karen: throw on a slinky dress and some mouse ears and you’re good to go!

Stalk the cast members on social media

In short: Gretchen Weiners is a new mom, Aaron Samuels is still adorable, and Damian is just too gay to function.

Wear pink

Today might not be Wednesday, but you can do whatever you want as long as you do it with conviction.

Make some toaster strudels

Okay, but have you ever actually eaten a toaster strudel? They are incredible.

Learn the choreography to ‘Jingle Bell Rock’

But also have Tina Fey on hand with a piano in case anything goes awry.

Give someone a fake compliment

Or maybe don’t. This one is legitimately mean.

Make out with a hot dog

Listen to the entire discography of Ladysmith Black Mumbazo

Your mom has had those tickets for months!

Go to Taco Bell

Watch a Danny DeVito movie

We love his work.
