Dark Horse and BioWare have announced future products — including comics, adult coloring books, and art books — in both the Mass Effect and Dragon Age universes.

“Dark Horse has been one of our oldest and most trusted partners. It is not only exciting to add more high-quality products to the release, but also to continue our creative collaborations to give our fans the best experiences possible for Mass Effect and Dragon Age,” said BioWare Director of Business Planning and Development Chris Bain.

Mass Effect Products

Dark Horse has long produced products based on the Mass Effect franchise, including an art book, ship replicas, and several comic lines. Going into 2017, Dark Horse and BioWare will partner on the Mass Effect: Andromeda program based on the highly-anticipated game of the same name. The program will begin in 2017 with the release of the Mass Effect Adult Coloring Book on March 1. The Art of Mass Effect: Andromeda will be released on March 21. Limited editions will be available for pre-order soon at The BioWare Store.

A new comic, Mass Effect: Discovery will be released in spring 2017, written by Jeremy Barlow (Mass Effect: Foundation) with art by Gabriel Guzmán. The story for Mass Effect: Discovery is from Mac Walters (Mass Effect: Andromeda Creative Director), John Dombrow (Mass Effect: Andromeda Lead Writer), and Barlow. Mass Effect: Andromeda—The Poster Collection will be available for purchase in fall 2017.

“As we bring the Andromeda galaxy to life, we realize that there are many untapped stories that could be better told through comics. These stories give our fans a more in-depth understanding of the motivations of the explorers making that journey, from their perspective. Our creative partnership with Dark Horse goes all the way back to Mass Effect 2 and we are excited to expand that partnership within the Andromeda galaxy,” said Walters.

Dragon Age Products

Dark Horse will also produce new comics and an adult coloring book based on BioWare’s Dragon Age franchise. The new series will be titled Dragon Age: Knight Errant and is written by Nunzio DeFilippis and Christina Weir (Skinwalker, Three Strikes), with art provided by Fernando Heinz Furukawa. Sachin Teng will provide the cover artwork. The first issue goes on sale May 10, 2017. Dragon Age Adult Coloring Book will go on sale Feb. 8, 2017.
