Nintendo designs have appeared on t-shirts for as long as gamers have worn clothing (so at least 1981). Mario, Pikachu, Samus and many others will soon be adorning a whole new line of shirts that are fantastic-looking fan creations that are soon going legit thanks to a contest at Uniqlo.

Uniqlo is one of the top clothes manufacturers in the world, and its partnership with Nintendo fans is truly an international one. As you can see on the official design page, Uniqlo received submissions from places as far-reaching as Japan, America, Mexico, Israel, Thailand and more. There are some really nice shirts on there, like Takashi Kawazoe’s first place Mario design.

As well as some great looks for Donkey Kong…

The Legend of Zelda…

Pokémon…

Not to mention Kirby, Star Fox, and my personal favorite, Animal Crossing.

It’s a pretty cool set altogether, and they’ll be going on sale stateside May 19. Sadly, not all designs are available in women, men, and kid sizes, so check the official site to see which Uniqlo is offering. Also, no word yet if these will be sold online or if you need to search out your local Uniqlo store to buy the dozens of designs.
