Based on Robert Kirkman‘s horror comic, Outcast arrives on Cinemax on June 3, 2016. Cinemax recently released a new thirty second teaser. The teaser gave us brief glimpses of characters such as Sidney, the main antagonist of the series.

Outcast follows Kyle Barnes, a man who has been plagued with demonic possession since he was a child. After having his mother and wife possessed, Kyle sequesters himself and pushes anyone he cares about away.  After a young boy in his hometown gets possessed, Kyle teams up with the local preacher, Reverend Anderson. The two set out on a journey to exorcise those possessed while searching for answers.

Outcast holds a lot of promise, at least Cinemax believes so. The rights to the series were ordered prior the comics debut. Shortly after the first issue was released, Cinemax ordered a pilot. In February 2015, Cinemax ordered a ten-episode first season. In mid-March, Cinemax ordered a second season prior to the series’ June premiere.

There have been a few fan screenings at events such as South by Southwest and WonderCon. For the most part, the pilot generally had positive fan reactions. For those who live around Seattle, there will be a screening of the pilot at the Image Expo. Tickets can be purchased here.
