Baby Driver is going to be one of the best films of the year. Why can I say that with such authority? Because director Edgar Wright has never made a bad movie. The mind behind Shaun of the Dead, Hot Fuzz, Scott Pilgrim vs. the World, and The World’s End is one of our cinematic trailblazers. He’s entering a new era of his career with Baby Driver and word on the street is that it’s a big step forward.

Tarantino Meets Toe-Tappin’
Wright’s new film has been described as a living music video of sorts. The way it uses music and musical beats are guaranteed to bring something you haven’t seen before. He’s toyed with such ideas in previous films, but Baby Driver promises to be the culmination of his audio aesthetic. And his cool gangster characters look like they jumped right out of a Quentin Tarantino comic book flick.
And that cast! Jamie Foxx, Jon Hamm, Kevin Spacey, Jon Bernthal, Lily James and fan favorite Ansel Elgort! This is a murderer’s row of talent. I can’t wait to see Wright play with such heavy-hitters on his team.
We only have a few weeks left before this hits theaters but the wait seems eternal. Maybe we need to track down that incredible soundtrack in order to kill some time? Here’s another cut off the album that is going to be the new Awesome Mix Vol. 1. Yeah, I said it.
