If you’re into horror dramas or supernatural thrillers, you may want to add Requiem to your Netflix list. The chilling British drama aired on BBC One in February and comes to the US via Netflix.

The six-part series centers on Matilda Gray — played by Ripper Street actress Lydia Wilson — a London cellist struggling to cope in the aftermath of her mother’s suicide. That’s when she begins to unearth secrets appearing to link her mother to the disappearance of a young girl in a small Welsh village over 20 years ago.

Matilda’s Dark Journey to the Truth

Matilda Gray in Requiem

Matilda’s dark journey to the truth takes her from London to Wales, and that’s where things get really strange. Her search of the community — and a seriously spooky manor house — uncovers a place haunted by the past, skeletons in closets, and even more disturbing mysteries, as her own identity unravels in the process.

Matilda’s best friend Hal, who might want to be more than friends, is at her side as she confronts shocking mysteries at every turn — some that could even have paranormal origins. And then there’s Nick, a handsome stranger, who may not be at all what he seems.

Just Scratching the Surface

That’s just scratching the surface of this scary six-part thriller. We’re not gonna spoil anything for you, but you should know that dead sheep, black eyes, four graves and a REALLY weird cult all figure into the mystery.

All episodes of Requiem are now streaming on Netflix.
