If you haven’t heard of Miraculous: Tales of Ladybug & Cat Noir, you’re missing out on one of the best CG-animated kids shows around. Season 1 of the series has been out since 2015, but it’s become a streaming sensation since hitting Netflix earlier this year. And if you’re among the show’s young fans, you’re probably dying to know when more episodes are coming. It’s soon…

What is Miraculous: Ladybug & Cat Noir all about?

Marinette and Adrien are two high school kids, but they’re different: they’re the ones chosen to save Paris from evil! The duo is entrusted with an important mission — to capture akumas, creatures responsible for turning normal people into super-baddies. When involved in such adventures, these two school kids become superheroes: Marinette transforms into Ladybug and Adrien becomes Cat Noir.

But Ladybug and Cat Noir do not know each other’s true identity. Marinette is unaware that, beneath the Cat Noir costume nestles Adrien, her secret crush. Similarly, Adrien doesn’t know that Ladybug is, in actual fact, just Marinette – one of the girls in his class.

What makes Miraculous so great?

Miraculous stands out from other similar shows because of the tone, it’s honest and clever without being snarky, and because of the strong main character.

Marinette is more than just a fun superhero, she’s also super-relatable. Young girls will find in her an aspirational character that gives them a window to enter the story in a personal way. The show’s vibe is hopeful, fun, and witty. It’s got heart, adventure, and intrigue in spades.

When does Miraculous: Tales of Ladybug & Cat Noir Season 2 come out?

The first season of Miraculous: Tales of Ladybug & Cat Noir is available to stream now on Netflix — 26 episodes in all. If you’ve already binged the whole thing, get hyped for more. Season 2 is coming later this year — sometime around September or October. You’ll be able to watch it on Netflix, too.

Season 2 is expected to be 26 episodes, just like the last season, but there’s a catch. The first 13 episodes will be released first, with the remaining 13 episodes releasing later.

Need more Miraculous? How about two more seasons and a movie…

Beyond that, Season 3 of Miraculous: Tales of Ladybug & Cat Noir is already in the works. We expect that to drop sometime in 2018. Beyond THAT, creator Jeremy Zag has plans for at least one additional season, but that doesn’t seem officially official yet.

There might even be a Miraculous live-action movie. Chris Columbus (Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone) has been attached to the project, but the current status is unclear. Last we heard it was pushed back to 2020.
