It’s a big day for children of the 1980s, and really anyone who loves classic video games. Nintendo surprised gamers of all stripes by announcing the return of the Nintendo Entertainment System, a.k.a. the NES. However, it’ll be a bit smaller than the one you remember and it comes with 30 retro games built-in. Another big improvement this mini classic console has over the 1985 model is that it comes with HDMI output. Unfortunately, it only comes with one controller, so if you want to play with your friends you have to buy an additional controller. But look at the adorable little machine you’ll get for $60.

The controllers look just like the original Nintendo Entertainment System model, but if you’re not into that old design, the mini NES Classic Edition is compatible with the standard Wii Remotes too. Perhaps this means the included games will be emulated just like the Virtual Console games on a Wii or Wii U.

Nintendo ships the mini version of the new NES Classic Edition to stores on November 11 for $59.99 (£50) across North America and the UK. However, the UK version will not launch with its AC adapter, a strange difference from the North American edition. And just looking at the retail box should send waves of nostalgia through any retro game lover.
