Tuesday was the last new AoS episode until March 2016. This story arc has been totally cray cray with the reintroduction of Skye as Daisy, finally finding out what happened to Jemma, and the emergence of a new superhero team: the Secret Warriors. Plus all those cool movie references sprinkled throughout! My personal favorite was, “I’ll be damned. Tatooine.” Let’s look back at the five biggest moments that shocked viewers (so far) this season. [WARNING: Major spoilers ahead!]

5. Dr. Andrew Garner is Lash

AoS-lash
Many of us were surprised to learn that Melinda May’s ex had somehow undergone Terrigenesis without anyone knowing. Who would’ve guessed that the once calm and rational Psychologist could be responsible for a string of Inhuman murders. Is there a chance for redemption in the second half of the season? We sure hope so!

4. Hydra. Is. Everywhere.

I’m with you, Fitz. I’m not sure how many more Hydra revelations I can take. First there was S.H.I.E.L.D., then the A.T.C.U., and now N.A.S.A.? They really do have a thing for acronyms, am I right?

3. The Monoliths

AoS-monolith portal

Learning that the monoliths were actually portals to an alien planet gave us hope for Jemma’s rescue and safe return. The episode “4,722 Hours” also provided us with a glimpse of the mysterious and dangerous alien predator that seemed to be the only inhabitant of the barren wasteland. Hopefully we’ll learn more about what civilization used to reside there and if they have any relation to the Kree (or not.)

2. Coulson kills Ward

AoS-wardsdeath

Compared to DC, Marvel brings a more lighthearted approach to heroic drama and adventure comics. So the jaw-dropping moment when Coulson uses his prosthetic hand to cave in Ward‘s chest wasn’t expected… at all.

1. Zombie Ward

Let’s be honest, none of us imagined we’d see Ward (alive) again. Which begs the question: How did he escape from Maveth? What is his agenda? And for the love of all that is Marvel: Who the heck is the unknown Inhuman alien possessing him?!
