Microsoft saved the best for last. To close out their E3 2016 2016 press conference, they officially unveiled what is being called Project Scorpio, an all-new console coming holiday 2017.
They are calling this the most powerful console ever created, and the hardware is being designed specifically with 4K gaming and high-fidelity VR in mind. Here are the specs they revealed in a video during the press conference
- 6 Teraflops of GPU processing power to handle 4K-native game resolutions
- Rendering at 60 Hz
- 8 CPU cores
- 320 GB/second memory bandwidth
Xbox made it quite clear they were not leaving the current Xbox One and upcoming Xbox One S models behind. All Xbox One games and accessories will be compatible with all three systems.
Project Scorpio will arrive Holiday 2017. The price has not yet been announced.
