‘Mass Effect Andromeda’ Receives New Details and Trailer

During the Electronic Arts E3 press conference, the highly anticipated sci-fi RPG, Mass Effect Andromeda, received some exciting new details along with a new trailer.

The new trailer showcased several returning alien species from the series, including Asari and Krogan characters. Several environmental shots of various planets are shown, featuring their own unique climates, enemy creatures, and obstacles. Some brief glimpses of the new and improved M35 Mako are also shown as well. The trailer concludes with the female protagonist waking up suddenly on a large spaceship, whispering "We made it."

It's been rumored that the main character of Mass Effect Andromeda will be named Rider. Observant fans noticed the name engraved on a dog tag in the N7 Trailer released late last year. This could be a reference to Sally Ride, the first American woman in space. This would be a nice thematic connection, since Shepard in the original Mass Effect trilogy is named after Alan Shepard, the first man in space.

The main character in the new game is tasked with traveling millions of lightyears to the strange galaxy of Andromeda.

Mass Effect: Andromeda will be released in early 2017 for Xbox One, PS4, and PC.
