Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite, the latest installment in the hectic, tag-team fighting game received a major update on October 18, fixing a plethora of bugs and adding three new characters to the roster. As the first half of the Character Pass, Sigma, Black Panther, and Monster Hunter are now playable! These characters are the first three of six DLC fighters that will be joining Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite this year.

If you’re planning on buying all six DLC fighters and want to save some money, you can opt to grab the Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite character pass, for $29.99 USD. If you’re looking to be selective with your purchases, each individual character costs $7.99 USD. Each character purchase also includes a premium costume (whether you buy the whole pass or just individually).

What playstyles and movesets can you expect from Sigma, Black Panther, and Monster Hunter?

Sigma

Sigma, the long-standing villain of the Megaman X series, makes his debut as a playable character in Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite. Sigma is able to control the battle by opening up dimensional rifts using his energy sword. These rifts linger around the screen and hinder the movement options of his opponent’s. Sigma is also armed with a command grab and a counter teleport. His playstyle can be utilized as a great counter to overly aggressive teams that may try to take advantage of his slower move set.

Black Panther

Black Panther is a character from Marvel comics, having debuted in Fantastic Four (#52) in July of 1966. In Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite, Black Panther becomes the ruler of Valkanda, a fusion between his home country Wakanda, and Val Habar of Capcom’s Monster Hunter universe. Black Panther is a melee fighter who utilizes quick slashes with his claws to chain together combos. He can cling to walls, and leap between them as a means to escape pressure. This technique can also be used offensively to attack the opponent in creative angles.

Monster Hunter

Fans of the hunting-and-looting Capcom game series will be ecstatic to see the addition of a Monster Hunter character in Marvel vs Capcom: Infinite. The female hunter appears as an NPC in story mode and a DLC character. She is a legendary monster hunter from Val Harbar that is appointed as Black Panther’s right hand after the convergence of their homelands. Monster Hunter is donned in the iconic Rathalos Armor as her default appearance. She wields a Great Sword, Dual Blades, and a Bow in combat. Her movesets and special moves allow seamless transition between all three weapon types. Her premier DLC outfit is the Kirin S Armor.

Keep an eye out later this year when Venom, the Winter Soldier, and Black Widow join the roster. Check out our expansive Marvel vs Capcom wiki for more details.
