SPOILER AND GRAPHIC CONTENT ALERT: This post contains spoilers and graphic scenes from the movie Jigsaw. Proceed with caution.

It takes a twisted genius to devise the traps in the Saw movies. The shotgun trap in Jigsaw — the latest movie in the franchise — is of the most simple yet suspenseful.

The trap is set at a pivotal moment in the film.

Anna (Laura Vandervoort) and Ryan (Paul Braunstein) are captured by a mysterious figure, and told the “key” to their survival lies with a loaded shotgun.

Anna grabs the gun and shoots Ryan. Unfortunately, they lose the gory game. Watch the exclusive featurette above to learn about the deadly design and how they failed.

Prop master Rick Little Darling explains how it all works.

Jigsaw comes to Digital HD January 9 and 4K Ultra HD, Blu-ray, and DVD January 23.
