Preacher is only a few weeks away from returning. It’d be nice if it was here now but we’ll have to wait just a little longer. Jesse, Tulip, and Cassidy will finally hit the road in their search for God. Don’t know what I’m talkin’ about? Check out this quick guide to the show and then we’ll get to the real fun…
Now that you’re all caught up, it’s time to get excited about the new season. We’ve seen little bits and pieces here and there, but today has offered up a full trailer that sheds some light on the bigger picture.

Aw yeah! This trailer confirms some pretty big pieces of the comic book, like the appearance of Herr Starr and Featherstone. We also see that the team will be headed to New Orleans, one of the pivotal points in the book as Jesse tries some crazy ideas on how to track down God. New Orleans also offers up a chunk of Cassidy’s sordid past. Will we see that in season 2?
The big question is whether the second season is planning to go into Jesse’s origins. If the show follows the comic series, there are some rotten branches on Jesse’s family tree. Really rotten. Whether this season is going to tackle that or not is still unclear. But with big additions to the cast like Starr, we might have to wait a little longer to meet Jesse’s twisted relatives.
Regardless, this looks as fun, frantic, and f’d up as Preacher always should be. Gotta love Cassidy saying that the Saint of Killers might be the Terminator. And he’s right: The Terminator is a brilliant film.
Preacher will return on June 25 on AMC. Start counting the days because this new season is planning to come back with gusto.
