5 Things ‘The Flash’ Season 3 Needs to Do

The CW’s Arrowverse series The Flash decided to make a run for the Flashpoint. The episode of the same name was the premiere of season three, and it was awesome. Now that we have a foothold into this new season, there are a few things that we hope to see in episodes still to come.

More Eobard Thawne

Eobard Thawne Reverse-Flash

Hold tight to your hats here because things are about to get weird. Back in the first season finale “Fast Enough“, Eobard Thawne was removed from existence after ancestor Eddie killed himself before siring the next generation. With me so far? This was because Thawne became stuck in the past after killing Barry Allen’s mother, Nora. Thawne bummed around for a while as he thought up a plan — replace Harrison Wells and make the Flash a bit earlier and siphon his speed to return home. Sounds good so far? Here’s the ‘but’.

But Barry ran Thawne from the night of his mother’s death into a present where she lived — the Flashpoint. Thawne then ran out of the Flashpoint and killed Nora anyway — check the full story in our “Flashpoint” recap. Barry then carried Thawne back into the non-Flashpoint present. The short story: Thawne is — for now — still alive and killing. Rival and Savitar are slated as the main villains for this season but a few glimpses of the Reverse-Flash would be darkly enjoyable all the same.

More Kid-Flash

The Flash Kid Flash

In the Flashpoint, Barry didn’t have to be the Flash — there was already somebody else on the job. Wally West was street racing when struck by a bolt of lightning and transformed into the Flash. Dubbed ‘Kid-Flash’ by Flashpoint-Iris and Barry, Wally was struck by a dark matter bolt in “Rupture“. We haven’t seen any indication of Speed Force coming from the young racer yet but the post-Flashpoint timeline has already shown distinct differences. Maybe something will happen in the near future to make a new speedster.

Another Hero

“Flashpoint” had a lot of unexpected outcomes. Cisco now has more control over his powers, Caitlin seems to be hiding hers, and Wally might soon be ready to step into some running shoes. With Oliver working with a new team and Kara working alongside Cousin Clark, it would be a nice change to see an extra pair of hands on Team Flash. Barry has been running solo for too long.

Character Development

We just saw Barry return from an alternate timeline. That timeline was created by saving Nora from dying but things quickly fell apart. The only solution available to save his friends was by allowing Eobard Thawne to kill his mother. But even that sacrifice proved insufficient as there are still problems in what should have been a fully restored timeline. With plenty of suffering in the near future, Team Flash finally has the chance to develop the characters even more so we see the effects of Flashpoint on a more personal level.

A Daniel Radcliffe Cameo

This might be at the bottom of the article but it is at the top of the list. Tom Felton — who played Draco Malfoy in the Harry Potter films – has been cast as Julian Albert who is apparently tied to Alchemy. Regardless of Felton’s role, we would love to see Radcliffe appear at some point. Imagine if Felton and Radcliffe collided and pretended to recognise one another from ‘school’. Ten seconds is all we ask.

Our wishlist continues with these non-speedster villains from the comics that we’d love to see in ‘The Flash’ series.
