Finally. The return of Twin Peaks is one of those things in life that are hard to get too excited about for fear of willing them out of existence. It was touch and go for a while there while business affairs were handled and the return of David Lynch’s transcendent television show struggled for life. Now that Showtime and Lynch have handled all of that the cameras are rolling and the series is creeping towards its 2017 airing. Many of the cast members are returning and it’s going to be interesting to see what shape the show takes. The original series was so influential in laying the groundwork for this renaissance in the medium it’s exciting to speculate how Lynch and his players are going to do it again. Especially with the freedom Showtime allows.
