There has been an ongoing tradition the past few years in the Arrowverse with Flash/Arrow crossovers. But with the emergence of Legends of Tomorrow and the addition of Supergirl, CW is preparing for something even more incredible than their usual stuff — an epic four-part four-way crossover. Based on DC’s groundbreaking limited series Invasion! comic, the CW announced in late September that the Dominators would be the crossover’s evil villains.

Warning: spoilers ahead

New Images

DC Superheroes L to R: Melissa Benoist (Supergirl), Stephen Amell (Green Arrow) and Grant Gustin (The Flash) Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada - October, 27, 2016 Photograph by Art Streiber

This first picture appears to be more of a joke one than anything else. Stephen Amell’s Oliver Queen is trying to read a book with Brandon Routh’s Atom peering over his shoulder. Supergirl Melissa Benoist and fastest man alive Grant Gustin are fighting on PlayStation as Caity Lotz/Sara Lance reads a comic book on the far right. In a joke on themselves, the comic is the original Invasion! title. Intriguingly, Atom is back in his suit once again. With the destruction of Atom’s suit in the Legends episode “Shogun“, he was last seen receiving Leonard Snart’s old Cold Gun.

This is quite a nice and serious shot. We see the newest hero on the team in his new Steel outfit. Behind him is Vixen. Both are junior members of the Legends. With Felicity Smoak and Cisco Ramon also present, it is clear that the pair are there for technical reasons.

The Flash Season 3, Episode 8 - "Invasion" (L-R) Grant Gustin as The Flash, Stephen Amell as Green Arrow and David Ramsey as John Diggle

With Barry and Oliver looking deadly serious at each other, John Diggle’s Spartan is just around the corner. Although we currently lack context, it appears that he is chasing them.

Arrow Season 5, Episode 8 - "Invasion" - Nov. 30, 2016 (L-R): Katie Cassidy as Laurel Lance and Caity Lotz as Sara Lance/White Canary

Sadly, Katie Cassidy’s Laurel Lance was killed in Season 4 of Arrow. But Season 2 of the Flash brought over her evil meta-human double from Earth-2. As the pair of sisters in this picture seem slightly at odds, it is possible that this is Black Siren instead of the Canary.

Supergirl Season 2, Epsiode 7 "Invasion!" - Nov. 21, 2016 (L-R): Melissa Benoist as Kara/Supergirl, Grant Gustin as Barry Allen and Carlos Valdes as Cisco Ramon

Barry Allen proved himself to be a smiling superhero when he first teamed up with Supergirl in the episode “World’s Finest“. It appears that poor Cisco will be smitten when he meets her. Judging from the background, this shot takes place in her apartment in the yet unnumbered Earth. Greg Berlanti — the architect of the Arrowverse — calls her universe Earth-CBS. Maybe we could just call it Earth-S. Because, you know, it’s Super?

What About the Daxamites?

With the Daxamites involved in the original story, this could have lasting ramifications, especially for Supergirl. With the destruction of Krypton, the twin planet Daxam was also destroyed. Only Mon-El survived, and he is currently working with Kara to better adapt to life on their new home planet.

Dates

“Invasion!” will be an enormous crossover spread across four main episodes. To catch all the excitement make sure to tune into:

  • Supergirl on Nov 28
  • Flash on Nov 29
  • Arrow on Nov 30
  • Legends of Tomorrow on December 1
  • Supergirl (again) episode on December 5
