Once Upon a Time

October 6 – (8/7c, ABC)

Once Upon a Time almost wrapped up six seasons of storytelling in a nice little bow with the wedding of Emma and Hook. While the story could have ended there, Once Upon a Time pulled one last twist in the Season 6 finale. The season ended not with Henry knocking on Emma’s door, as he did all those years ago, but with a new little girl knocking on adult Henry’s door. Not only did she say she was his daughter, but she told him he needed his memories back. Say what now? Season 7 will pick up from here with a new book, a new curse, and a new cast. Don’t worry though, Hook, Regina, and Rumple will all be back this season. A new story awaits this October.

Riverdale

October 11 – (8/7c, The CW)

Riverdale, that quiet little teen show based on Archie Comics, went out with a serious bang last season. The show started with the death of a student and ended with the attempted murder of a parent. That parent was Archie‘s father, Fred Andrews (played by ’90s teen heartthrob Luke Perry.) The Season 1 finale also revealed Jason’s killer, saw the Blossom estate go up in flames, and showcased the daring rescue of Cheryl who had fallen through the ice. If Season 1 asked “Who killed Jason Blossom,” Season 2 will definitely ask, “Who shot Fred Andrews?” The fact that the shooting happened at Pop’s, Riverdale’s most sacred teen hangout, means that no place will be safe in Season 2. We can’t wait to see mysteries unfold this October.

Arrow

October 12 – (9/8c, The CW)

Adrian Chase was ten steps ahead of Oliver throughout Season 5. He knew Oliver’s weaknesses, he knew about Lian Yu, he knew about everything. His final play against Oliver was to kidnap everyone he loved, trap them on the island, and blow it up. Oliver and his son William were left to watch in horror as Lian Yu was bombarded with explosives. This might be the biggest cliffhanger Arrow has every pulled off. When Season 6 premieres in October, who will be left alive? Felicity, Curtis, Lance, Dinah, Rene — everyone important to Oliver was on that island. This is one cliffhanger we need resolved and can’t wait to discover this October.

The Walking Dead

October 22 – (9/8c, AMC)

When Sasha (Sonequa Martin-Green) valiantly gave her life in The Walking Dead Season 7 finale, she gave Rick’s team the ability to turn the tables on Negan. Negan was sent running as Rick’s team boldly declared that they would win. Winning has been a constant theme on The Walking Dead — no less so in this new trailer for Season 8. With Negan regrouping and every survivor wanting the world for themselves, who will come out on top? Also, what’s up with Old Man Rick in that trailer? Will we get some kind of time jump in Season 8? Only time will tell this October.

Blindspot

October 27 – (8/7c, NBC)

Blindspot Wedding Gif
Jane and Weller allude to a wedding in a Season 3 time jump.

Season 2 of Blindspot unfurled a plot that Shepherd had been orchestrating for decades. While Weller’s team successfully stopped her plans, Roman was able to get away, which means he could be our villain in Season 3. If the Sandstorm/Shepherd take down wasn’t crazy enough, the episode ended on a massive cliffhanger: a time jump that showed us Weller and Jane may have gotten married. Not only are they potentially married but Patterson, Zapata, and Reade have been kidnapped (OMG!) And, in case we thought the tattoos were done, Weller pulled out a puzzle box that released a blacklight. When the blacklight was put on Jane’s body, new invisible tattoos began to glow within her skin. Holy moly. The Jeller ship is sailing, the team is gone and there are new tattoos! We are living to see these mysteries unfold this October.
