The 2018 Emmy nominations were announced on Thursday morning and Game of Thrones crushed the competition with 22 nods, while Westworld and Saturday Night Live followed right behind with 21 each.

The real showdown, however, will be between Game of Thrones and last year’s top winner, The Handmaid’s TaleThe dystopian drama became the first show from a streaming platform to win Best Drama last year, taking advantage of GoT‘s ineligibility because of the timing of its seventh season.

But although HBO’s dragon-filled hit is back in the running this Emmy season, it may be at a disadvantage because it’s been off the air for almost a year. Meanwhile, The Handmaid’s Tale, which nabbed a total of 20 nominations, just came out in April.

Other big news coming from the announcement of the Emmy nominations is the fact that HBO is not leading the way for the first time in almost two decades.

HBO has ruled the Emmys as the most nominated network for the past 17 years, but all that changed on Thursday when Netflix broke the streak. The streaming platform landed a total of 112 nominations, with HBO nabbing 108.
