Miz Cracker’s journey on Season 10 of RuPaul’s Drag Race was a wild ride.
The New York queen burst through the gates as a fan favorite before stumbling and starting to doubt herself halfway through the competition. She pulled herself back up with her first win thanks to the now-iconic transformation of Miz Cookie in this year’s makeover challenge, only to stun fans by being sent packing the following week.
FANDOM caught up with Cracker the day after the elimination aired to find out how she felt when she first was told to sashay away.
“There is nothing that I love to do more than to take negative words from other people and use them to beat myself into the ground, which is exactly what I did,” she said about her last day on set. “But time has passed and America has been so kind to me. They have lifted me up out of that.”
The “negative words” she was struggling with came from fellow competitor Asia O’Hara, who said on the main stage that Cracker was the one queen who deserved to go home because she wasn’t a star.
“I’m not sure why Asia said what she said and we haven’t had a chance to talk about it, but that’s why there’s the reunion episode, so hopefully we can work that out,” Cracker told FANDOM. “She got some ‘splaining to do.”
It will be interesting to hear why Asia doubts Cracker’s star power, but it wouldn’t be surprising to find out that she has a much different opinion now. Miz Cracker has clearly proven she is a star thanks to the legion of diehard fans she’s accumulated since her time on the show — something that was perfectly illustrated at DragCon last month.
“My favorite interaction at DragCon was looking out and seeing that I had one of the top three meet-and-greet lines in the entire building. It was me, Sasha Velour, and Bianca Del Rio,” Cracker said. “Me and two winners. That’s two and a half men.”
Cracker said that the most surprising part of her Drag Race experience was discovering how real it all was, saying that there were never producers prodding her and that none of the drama was manufactured. But her favorite part? Well, that was being a mother to Miz Cookie (Chester See ), of course.
“The high of the whole experience was proving that drag is transformative,” Cracker said. “When Cookie looked around and saw herself in the mirror for the first time — Shabat Shablam, she’s a woman! I did what I came to do.”
But now that Miz Cracker’s surprise elimination has come and gone, only four queens remain for a chance at the crown. While we don’t yet know if the finale will pit the final four against each other in a lip sync like Season 9 or if they’ll return to the former top three format, let’s take a look at where the final contestants stand heading into next week.
4. Kameron Michaels
No doubt diehard Cracker fans are furious that Kameron won the lip sync after being in the bottom for three weeks in a row, but the muscle queen has still proven that being light on personality does not equate to being light on talent. Even still, based on the season as a whole, she’s the least deserving of the remaining queens to make it to the finale.
3. Eureka O’Hara
Eureka was in her head at the start of the competition, doubting whether or not she deserved to come back for another shot at the crown. But as soon as she got back on track, she seemed to become unstoppable. Unfortunately, a large portion of the fanbase seems to get as annoyed at her as The Vixen did, so if popularity is a factor when it comes to crowning a winner, this could be the one thing to hurt the Elephant Queen.
2. Asia O’Hara
Asia is tied in second with Eureka when it comes to main challenge wins, with each having two under their belt. But the Texas queen really shined in this week’s evil twin challenge, serving a dark take on her inner saboteur and really allowing herself to become vulnerable with her dialogue. That strong showing puts her in a good position heading towards the finale.
1. Aquaria
After winning the main challenge this week, Aquaria is now officially leading the pack with three main-challenge wins all season. And while she’s known for turning out amazing looks — RuPaul said her inner saboteur couture was among the best she’s seen in 10 years — she also proved she can make us laugh. Her Snatch Game win proved that she even knows how to turn her weaknesses into strengths and she’s now the queen to beat as we head towards the end of the season.
