SLR Comes to a Close on Tuesday, December 29

Destiny-Sparrow-Racing-Exploit

If you have yet to take to Mars and Venus for high octane Sparrow racing action, you better get moving: Bungie takes the special mode down with the weekly reset on December 29. Achieving higher ranks with aeronautical specialist Amanda Holliday opens up the chance to earn special helmets and class items sporting light levels as high as 320.

The Iron Banner Returns on Tuesday, December 29

Destiny-Sparrow-Racing-Exploit
Players mourning the loss of SLR on December 29 won’t have to wallow in sorrow for long: Lord Saladin, of the Iron Lords, will be throwing up the Iron Banner at approximately 10 a.m. PST on Tuesday, December 29. Control will be the game type this time around.

Here are the items players will have a chance to win during the event:

Auto Rifles:

Shotguns:

Titan Armor:

IB_Titan_Gear

Hunter Armor:

IB_Hunter_Gear

Warlock Armor:

IB_Warlock_Gear_1

PS4 Exclusive Armor:

IB_Sony_Gear

Available from Lord Saladin:

  • Rank 3: Boots
  • Rank 4: Helmets, Auto Rifles
  • Rank 5: Shotgun

Available as post-game drops:

  • Rank 2: Helmets
  • Rank 3: Class Items, Auto Rifles

Destiny Level Packs Are Now Available

Players that want to avoid spending five to 10 hours leveling their character to 25 can now pay $30 to expedite the process. The Taken King is only playable at level 25, so this new and high-priced microtransaction seems geared towards impatient players hoping to jump right into all of the newest content. Unlike the spark included with The Taken King, the add-on will also automatically advance a subclass of the player’s choice, a process that normally requires a huge amount of time.

Weekly Nightfall: The Undying Mind

DestinyLevelPacks
This week, players can take on The Undying Mind, modified with Berserk, Brawler, Match Game and Trickle. Berserk stops enemies from flinching, Brawler enhances melee damage, Match Game forces the player to use elemental damage to destroy enemy shields, and Trickle slows down the recharge rate of your abilities.

Court of Oryx Tier 3 Boss: Balwur

From Destinypedia: Balwur is a Wizard who applies a damaging field to the entire floor of the Court, except for the area directly under the platform. Killing special Acolytes will extend the safe area out into the open and make Balwur vulnerable, allowing players to damage her.

King’s Fall Raid Challenge: The Warpriest

This week’s King’s Fall Raid challenge entails taking down the ultra hive knight Warpriest. Weapons of light and the void bow do significant damage to this bruiser, so make sure you plan accordingly. A detailed description of the King’s Fall Raid, including instructions for defeating Warpriest, is available over at Destinypedia. Players seeking additional guidance should check out the video below.
