‘Destiny 2’ Pre-Order Guide: Which Version is Right For You?

Alex Eriksen

Destiny 2 is almost upon us (Sept. 6) and it’s not too late to get in on the pre-order action. This guide will give you the complete rundown on all the different versions of the game and where you can get them.

Bungie is packaging the game into six different iterations. You can of course order the version of your choice directly from them here. If you want some options, keep reading.

The Standard Edition — $60

You get the vanilla game and the exotic energy rifle, Cold Heart.

Standard Edition PC — $60

Standard + Expansion — $90

This version gives you the season pass, which will release DLC in winter 2017 and Spring 2018. You’ll also get the Cold Heart rifle for pre-ordering.

Digital Deluxe Edition — $100

For ten dollars more you get everything that comes in the standard + expansion version and some extra swag in your bag. You’ll get a Legendary Sword, Legendary Player Emote, and Cabal Empire Themed Emblem.

PC Edition

Gamestop Limited Edition — $100

You’ll get everything in the deluxe edition as well as some Cabal-themed extras. There’s a Cabal Collector’s steelbook, a booklet with a history of the Cabal Empire, Cabal schematics, some collectible postcards, and some Cabal figurines.

Collector’s Edition — $250

If you love physical swag then you may want to consider cashing in the trust-fund for this one. You’ll get all the goodies in the limited edition as well as a cool messenger bag, a laptop sleeve, a solar panel USB charger with a built-in light, and a solar blanket.

PS4 Pro Bundle — $449.99

In the market for a console? It comes with everything in the Deluxe Edition and you’ll get the Kill-tracker Ghost. It seems that particular add-on is tied to console versions of the game. If you pre-order the digital edition from the Microsoft or Playstation stores you’ll get it along with the Cold Heart exotic rifle.

There you have it, guardians. If you feel like Bungie deserves your cold, hard cash then you know what to do. We’ll see you online Sept. 6 and keep it tuned in here for all things Destiny.
