Deadpool 2 is one of the most anticipated sequels in recent memory. The first film was a runaway success that breathed life into the sometimes stale superhero genre. Production on Deadpool 2 has begun and Ryan Reynolds has already taken to social media to get fans excited. Here’s Deadpool lounging in front of the Xavier mansion on day one of shooting:

And now we’ve got some awesome news in the casting arena. Julian Dennison has joined the production in an unnamed role. Check out this adorable picture of him getting a piggyback ride from Deadpool on the set:

Why Is This Awesome?

Dennison was recently in Hunt for the Wilderpeople, last year’s beloved comedy from Thor: Ragnarok director Taika Waititi. Seriously, if you haven’t seen Hunt for the Wilderpeople, you are missing out. It also stars Sam Neill who you’ll know as Dr. Alan Grant from Jurassic Park. The movie is incredibly funny as well as deeply moving. Dennison steals the show as wild child Ricky Baker. Need a taste? Watch this adorable scene where his new foster parents celebrate his birthday:

We hope Dennison will be a prominent character in Deadpool 2 but it will be a joy to see him on the big screen no matter what. Expect more social media shenanigans from Reynolds and crew as production rolls along. We’ll keep our eyes out and make sure to let you know about the best ones.

Deadpool 2 is scheduled to hit theaters on June 1, 2018. Are you counting the days down like we are?
