A second full-length trailer for The Dark Tower has been released, and it includes more as-yet-unseen footage from the anticipated Stephen King adaptation starring Idris Elba and Matthew McConaughey. The footage includes some spectacular shots of Mid-World and a fresh glimpse at battle scenes between Elba’s Deschain and McConaughey’s Man in Black. Check it out above.

Original article debuting recent teasers follows:

Some new Dark Tower teasers have emerged. One, called “Earth” shows more of the worlds in which the events of The Dark Tower take place – both Mid-World and the world we recognise as modern day New York.

As Idris Elba’s Roland Deschain aka the gunslinger explains, “The Man in Black wants to rule our worlds so hell can be unleashed.”

Matthew McConaughey plays the Man in Black, who is intent on ensuring his brand of evil triumphs.

The second spot focuses on Deschain, and is titled “Knight”. This teaser is overlaid with audio we’ve already heard in the trailer. It repeats the words he speaks to young Jake – a boy who gets mixed up in all the shenanigans – when he’s passing on his gunslinging wisdom and is mostly footage of Deschain in battle mode.

The final teaser, called “Man in Black” revolves around – you’ve guessed it – Matthew McConnaughey’s character, who is also known as Randall Flagg in the novels. This one sees him bragging about killing Deschain’s loved ones, and reminding us that “death always wins.”

Take a look and see what you think.

There are other worlds than these. Stephen King’s ‘The Dark Tower’, the ambitious and expansive story from one of the world’s most celebrated authors, makes its launch to the big screen. The last Gunslinger, Roland Deschain (Idris Elba), has been locked in an eternal battle with Walter O’Dim, also known as the Man in Black (Matthew McConaughey), determined to prevent him from toppling the Dark Tower, which holds the universe together. With the fate of the worlds at stake, good and evil will collide in the ultimate battle as only Roland can defend the Tower from the Man in Black.

The Dark Tower is released in cinemas on August 4 in the US and August 18 in the UK.
