We’ve been anxiously awaiting our first in-depth look at the second season of Daredevil, and today has finally scratched that itch. Check out the first full trailer below:
It’s pretty clear that season two will have an enormous amount of its time dedicated to Frank Castle a.k.a. the Punisher, and it looks fantastic. This trailer almost works as a horror movie when it comes to selling the emotionless vigilante. Jon Bernthal looks amazing, and though he probably won’t be as fun as Ray Stevenson’s version was in Punisher: War Zone (an under-loved film), he looks to be the most grounded and sympathetic version we’ve seen on screen yet.
This trailer definitely showcases how serious the showrunners are taking the Punisher, and rumors of him gaining his own show look to truer than ever. It will be interesting to see what the Punisher’s actions will have on Matt and the gang in their ongoing war against crime in Hell’s Kitchen. It is nice to see that the Daredevil costume will be getting a workout this time around. Considering the damages it looks like it’s going to undergo, maybe we’ll even get another version of the suit by the season’s end?
Seeing as how this is the first part of a two-part trailer, it looks like we’ll be getting more of the non-Punisher story in the next commercial. Leaving off with a tease of Elektra is a good way to go. Is she going to be our connection to Wilson Fisk this season? Vincent D’Onofrio was easily one of the best things about season one, so here’s hoping he makes a big splash in the next teaser.
Daredevil season two releases all of its episodes on Netflix on March 18.
