CW’s ‘The Flash’ Reveals Kid Flash

CW’s The Flash is one of the best comic book shows in recent memory. The series is headed into its third season with the promise that things are going to get crazier than ever. No spoilers here, but I will say that the next season is taking its inspiration from the “Flashpoint” arc. Heck, the first episode of season three is called “Flashpoint” just so there’s no doubt! One of the big elements from the premiere has been revealed: we’ll finally get to see Wally West as Kid Flash.

The CW put out a few promo stills of actor Keiynan Lonsdale in costume and they are a blast. Feast your eyes on this:

I love that they went with the classic color scheme. There was a school of thought that wanted Wally to have his more recent silver/red costume, but The Flash has always had a lot of love for the iconic imagery of its source material.

Will this be Wally in an alternate timeline, or will he be the Wally that we know who has traversed through alternate realities? My hope is on the latter. This is such a cool look that I want him to keep it. I wonder if Barry will have anything to say about the yellow coloring. He’s not exactly a fan of speedsters that dress in yellow.

If you aren’t watching The Flash, this is as good a time as any to start. The show is a true love letter to how fun and wacky comic books can be, and Wally’s costume is proof of that. Between this and his emotional reappearance in DC Universe: Rebirth, it’s a good time to be a Wally West fan. I can’t wait to see what’s in store next for him.

Now, how about we see Jesse Quick next?
